To make these Homemade 30th Birthday Mini Hamburger Sliders Cakes, I used 3 boxes of pound cake (added a bit of instant pudding for moistness), baked in a cupcake pan with the box directions and 2 boxes of brownie mix on a cookie sheet cut out with a small metal lid for the meat.

The cheese is colored fondant as well as the pickles and napkin. I used homemade butter cream frosting for all the sauces and shredded coconut colored greenish for lettuce. To make the buns have that mmm mmm buttery shine I made a simple honey glaze with honey and a bit of water then just brushed it on and sprinkled some seeds.

After that, I found a cool tray at a Dollar store and piled up the lil' guys, stakin 'em with thin wood dowels to secure.

Needless to say my food loving guy loved these. Enjoy!

Homemade Burger Cake

by Abi Warren
(Torquay,Devon, England.)

I made this cake for my boyfriends 23rd birthday this year. He is a burger beast and eats cheeseburgers daily so I thought there was nothing else more perfect for him. I coloured the frosting using instant coffee mixed into a pasted with a little boiling water. For the lettuce, cheese and tomato i just rolled out icing and painted it with food coulouring, much easier than colouring it all individually, I sandwiched it together with butter icing and sprinkled a few real sesame seeds on top to complete. I used to normal sized spong tins for the buns and carved the top one so it was slightly rounded. The burger was just a cocoa flavoured sponge. It was pretty intense to eat...but delicious! It went down a treat, Abi.

Homemade Burger Birthday Cake

Homemade Burger Birthday Cake

For his 7th birthday in 2007, my nephew requested a Burger Birthday Cake and, after reviewing the ones in this site at that time, I came up with this one. It thrilled him to no end and he's requested another for this year, his 9th. The first was pretty dry with the brownie "meat", yellow cake layers, fruit roll-ups and very little moisture. It looked very authentic, but lacked the "yummy factor" I thought. I'm not sure if I'll honor his request this year as I had another tentative plan. If I do another burger this year, it will probably be a fruit/pudding/icing thing.

Homemade Burger Cake and Sugar Cookie Fries

Homemade Burger Cake and Sugar Cookie Fries

I made this Burger Cake for a 30th birthday. I used one cake mix divided into a 9 inch round and a rounded glass baking bowl for the bun. I used another cake mix in a pampered chef spring round pan for the hamburger. I used food coloring, yellow and a little brown to make the bun color.

I frosted the meat part with fudge frosting and pressed crushed chocolate Graham crackers to give a more "meat-like" look. I also used a leaf tip for the lettuce. The fries are sugar cookies cut into strips, the ketchup is of course colored frosting.

Homemade Burger Cookout Cake

Homemade Burger Cookout Cake

My fiance loves his charcoal grill to make burgers on so I decided what better cake to make for him than a burger cookout cake.

It is a 2 layer 9-in. round cake frosted with whipped chocolate icing. I used mini-marshmallows coated in cocoa powder, then dusted with powdered sugar for the briquettes. The grates are piped grey icing.

For the burgers I used a muffin pan that makes only the tops, then frosted over them with orange tinted icing. I added flames using the leftover orange icing with red dye slightly mixed in.

Homemade Burger Cake

Homemade Burger Cake

I made this homemade burger cake for my son's birthday! The bottom is made in a round pan the middle (burger) is also made in a round pan but is chocolate rice krispy treats and the top of the burger is made in a round oven proof bowl. I covered the bottom and top in marshmallow fondant and made the lettuce and cheese and tomato out of "candy clay".
