Coolest Pirate Ship Birthday Cake

I made this Pirate Ship Birthday Cake for my son’s third birthday, with a pirate theme. For this cake I made two square cakes in square pans and positioned them on top of each other with frosting (buttercream). I then piped brown frosting around the edges, and smoothed in onto the top. I used Oreo sippers around the edges, and skull candies and rolo pieces for cannons. I used chocolate balls for cannon balls on top, along with pirate toys. I also filled a treasure chest toy with gold candie balls for gold. I used skewers to place on top with flags that I made out of construction paper. I placed the cake on a large cake board with blue frosting, and I used candy gummy dolphins and blue sugar for effect. The pirate cupcakes are just frosted with the same frosting, and I used black sugar for the beards, and piped the faces.
