I baked two square 22cm chocolate sponge cakes for this Hello Kitty cake. Then sandwiched it together and placed it in the freezer. I took it out after 2 hours and then I cut out a template of Hello Kitty's face, placed on the cake with pins then cut out the cake accordingly .
I iced the cake with a thin layer of butter cream and then again with fondant. Cut our the accents with fondant and stuck on the cake. The bow is made by using a circle and a heart cookie cutter. (cut two hearts from fondant and one circle, place hearts on bottom and circle over the heart).
The whiskers is the letter I from my cookie cutter. The eyes and nose are round cutters and shaped into oval. Some of the black from the whiskers/eyes leaked onto the white and I just removed it with a wet cue tip.
The cake is decorated with fondant and coloured using gel food colouring.
My daughter loves Hello Kitty and wanted a Hello Kitty cake for her 4th birthday. I searched this website and got a number of ideas. This cake was actually fairly simple to make.
I made a 1/4 sheet cake, frosted it with white frosting and placed it in the refrigerator to harden. I cut out a large picture of HK's head as the template. I placed it on the cake and gently traced around the head. I used shoe string licorice to shape the face and bow.
I then used the star tip to add dimension to Kitty's face. I used jelly beans for eyes and the nose. It was fun and easy!
I made a this cake for my daughters 1st birthday, we had a hello kitty theme and i wanted to do somethin different so i created this cake,i used a simple vanilla sponge cake mixture as follows: 4 eggs 1 cup sugar 1.5 cups of self raising flour 0.5 cup oil 0.5 cup water I doubled this mixture for the 1st layer and halfed this misture for the 3rd layer

This Hello Kitty cake was for my 3 year old. I usually come up with the cake idea and then my husband hops in to do the detail work (when I'm frustrated and near tears!!…at midnight!).
The frosting is a darker pink for the sides and a lighter pink for the top (no, that was not intentional!). Her birthday is 2 days before Valentine's Day so there are always plenty of pink candies to be found to decorate with.
I made this Hello Kitty cake for my niece's 8th birthday. I used an 11X8 pan to carve out Hello Kitty's face. I covered the cake with marshmallow fondant. I also made the facial feature and bow out of fondant painted with food coloring.
