I made this Dora Mushroom Cake for my niece. She is a big Dora fan but I wanted to do something different from the usual character cake.

The stalk of the toadstool is choc biscuit cake made in pudding bowl and the cap is choc sponge made in large Pyrex bowl. I then covered stalk with white fondant icing and added door windows and flowers at base. The cap is covered with red fondant and I dotted it with circles of white fondant. I used a skewer to secure cap to stalk.

I covered a cake board with green butter cream and added a purple path to lead to toadstool, a sign made out of fondant and little Dora, Swiper and Boots figures finished the look.
